Mario Luis Benabe

Mr. Benabe is an Ethno-mathematician, public intellectual, author, school leader and social justice activist. He is the creator of Do-The-Right-Thing-Pedagogy, a framework for teaching and learning that decolonizes STEM education.

An award-winning educator, Mr. Benabe has received awards and recognitions from the U.S. Department of Education White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, the office of the Bronx Borough President, Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, Teach For All, NYC Department of Education, John Hunter Memorial Camp Fund, Entertainment Industry Foundation, Teach For America, Think It Up and Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity.

Mr. Benabe holds a M.S.T in Special Education from Fordham University, a B.A. in Anthropology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and an Association Montessori Internationale Primary Education degree from the Indigenous Montessori Institute.
